My wife and kids are mosquito buffets. We are living in the tropics, so many mosquito there. I bought this to try the next time they got eaten and IT WORKS! The disc that you place on the bite does get REALLY hot (literature says between 124F-127F) and initially causes brief concern you are going to burn yourself. But so far, no burns have occurred even with our young kids. And even better, no itching happened after and the bites never swelled. I would certainly follow all the instructions and not use it on your face, sensitive areas, or open wounds. There are two buttons that give either a 3 or 5 second burst of heat. We have found the 3 second one sufficient for everyone and the 5 second one not really tolerable for any better result.
